NOTES
Additional Information:The Roberts Block 2 is a two-part building. The north end was originally constructed along with its northern neighbor in 1884 as the Roberts Block. It had a tower where the center of the building is today (tower has been removed). The south half of the building was added in 1893, also by R.N. Roberts, making a unified double storefront building. The building has a red brick facade, brick corbeled cornice, shallow pilasters, a wide stone belt course and openings largely filled with single-light sashes. On the south end the sashes have been partially enclosed and on the upper level of the building, the openings are fully enclosed. The storefront is modern.

The Roberts Block was constructed in 1884 as part of a three-storefront commercial building. It housed various commercial businesses. The south half was built in 1893 and leased to the post office. It remained the location of the post office until 1939, when the new post office was completed. This building is a good example of the Queen Anne commercial style designed by noted architect, William Waters. The building was home for many decades to the local post office, one of the most important government offices in the city's history. The building is contributing in the Main Street Historic District because it adds to the architectural and historical significance of this district.
