NOTES
Additional Information:The Beadleston Block is a two-story Italianate style commercial building with a painted brick exterior and an elaborate brick cornice that runs across the front and south sides of the building. The second story openings, also running across the front and south elevations are decorated with stone label moldings and keystones. These openings are partially enclosed with wood paneling and small single light sashes. Two small openings and a side entance in the south elevation are also decorated with label moldings. The storefront has been modernized.

The Beadleston Block was built at about the same time as the Masonic Block to the north and has similar details. Hiram and Henry Beadleston were two of Waupaca's earliest pioneer retailers, operating a grocery store on this site as early as 1862. After this building was constructed, the Beadlestons continued to operate a store here until the early 1880s. During the early twentieth century, it housed the Pioneer Hardware Store.

The Beadleston Block is architecturally significant, and contributes to the architectural significance of the Main Street Historic District because of its fine Italianate style. It is historically significant and contributes to the district because it housed an important early retail business in the city and continued to be an important retail location throughout the twentieth century.
