NOTES
Additional Information:The Granite Hotel is a three story building with a mansard roof covered with standing seam metal. Gable roofed dormers project from the main elevation. The walls are covered with asbestos siding and punctuated with single light sashes. Modern porches have replaced originals on the main elevation.

The Granite Hotel was originally built in 1891, then moved slightly to the west to accomodate the Danes Home. The Granite Hotel contributes to the historical significance of the Main Street Historic as an example of a small downtown hotel. Hotels were important commercial businesses in the nineteenth century and ranged in size from this building to much larger structures. The Granite Hotel is one of three extant historic hotels in Waupaca and represents one type of hotel available to the public during the turn of the twentieth century.
