Additional Information: | The Nelson Shoe Store building is a two story structure constructed of rusticated concrete blocks. It has two second floor openings of single-light sashes. The storefront consists of a large show window flanked by two doors. The building adds to the architectural significance of the Main Street Historic District as a good example of concrete block construction. This type of construction was popular for some buildings during the early twentieth century, particularly using rusticated concrete blocks. The building adds to the historical significance of the Main Street Historic District because it was used as a long-time commercial building in Waupaca's downtown. |
