| Additional Information: | F in photo code stands for FCS. This is a story and a half vernacular front gable frame house with a gabled, one-story rear extension. One of seven identical structures on a curving street bordering a paper mill, it was presumably built and originally owned as company housing. 553 is clad with aluminum clapboard siding and roofed with asphalt shingles. The original cood of the centered, front entry serves as the roof of an enclosed vestibule. Flanked by vertical sash windows , the entry is surmounted by paired sash windows centered in the upper story gable. The cement front porch and steps have ornamental metal railings. A replacement cement chimney protrudes at the center of the roof ridge. Adjacent to the house is a garage. |
