Additional Information: | The previously inventoried house is a one and one-half story Gothic Revival building with a cross gable plan. It appears to date to ca. 1900. The front (south-facing) facade is symmetrical, with a central gabled bay and full length porch. Classical Revival elements are present on the porch. Fluted Doric columns support the porch roof, which is accented with dentils and a central pediment. The cross gable bay features two double hung windows on the ground floor with flanking paneled doors and double hung windows. The second floor features a pair of double hung windows in the center bay, flanked by two gabled dormers with double hung windows. Decorative vergeboards are present in the gables. A single story addition has been constructed on the westernmost elevation. The house is clad in vinyl siding and an asphalt shingle roof. The foundation is not visible. The house displays elements of both Gothic Revival and Classical Revival styles, but it is not a fully developed expression of either style. It also displays a loss of integrity due to the prominent west addition, replacement siding, and replacement windows. |
