NOTES
Additional Information:2023: This two-story, cream brick commercial building was constructed circa 1875 exhibiting characteristics of the Italianate style such as a rosette studded steel beam lintel above the storefront and segmental arch window crowns. Prior to 1978, the characteristic decorative brickwork or cornice along the parapet was removed. Between 1978 and 2005, the adjacent storefronts of 901, 905 (70811), and 907 (29881) S. Main Street were rehabilitated with similar storefront appearances including dentil band belt courses, blind round arch entrances with basket weave patterned infill, and tripartite storefronts with corresponding multi-lite transoms. At 901-901A S. Main Street, the dentil band belt course was reconstructed to match that of 905-905A S. Main Street, and the blind round arch entrance to the second story was constructed to match the extant round arch entrance of 907 S. Main Street. The storefront was also reconstructed with brick knee walls in lieu of bulkheads, single pane windows, and multi-lite transoms. The second story windows are replacement one-over-one rectangular windows set in wood infill panels. 1980: Two story brick building which has been recently sandblasted. Decoration that has been retained is simple, consisting of brick hood molds and string course.
