NOTES
Additional Information:2005-STAINED GLASS WINDOWS, SOME BASEMENT-LEVEL REPLACEMENT WINDOWS. PART OF ST VINCENT COMPLEX.
1978-The design of this brick church emanates from Romanesque source. Unlike earlier RIchardsonian Romanesque churches in the city, this building is fairly regular in plan and lighter in elevation. The tall campanile-lie tower provides a strong vertical accent. A decorative arch surrounding the rose window appears light and also provides a vertical accent. The main entrance consists of three round-arched openings springing from compound piers. Four buttresses alternate with tracery windows on the side elevation, ending at the transept. The west end terminates in a polygonal apse. The church is connected with the 1920's rectory by an arcaded "cloister". St. Vincent's is the most sophisticated example of the Romanesque Revival style in the city. See 216 W. South Park for the rectory.
