Additional Information: | Neo-Classic Revival former post office structure creatively adapted to resuse as the Beloit Public Library. All stone facade with massive engaged Ionic columns; cornice above with brackets; spaces between columns now filled in with glass panels retaining original rhythm. The original architect, James Knox Taylor, was Supervising Architect of the Treasury from 1897 until his retirement in 1912; this was one of the last of his designs. |
