Additional Information: | DESCRIPTION this barn has a gambrel roof, board siding, and a fieldstone foundation. There are steeply-pitched gable dormers projecting from the side of the roof. Openings include multi-light windows and wooden doors. Concrete and rock-face concrete block silos without their tops at one end of the barn. ARCHITECTURE\ENGINEERING SIGNIFICANCE This barn has some architectural interest as a gambrel-roofed barn type in Mequon. The gable-roofed dormer is typical of dormers seen throughout Mequon on barns. The silos date from the early twentieth century. Especially interesting is the rock-face concrete block silo. demolished in 2016. |
