Additional Information: | This church is considered significant as an example of late nineteenth century design, which in Oshkosh was often a combination of Queen Anne-Shingle Style-Colonial Revival elements. The entrance is centrally located with a polygonal bay to the west and the bell tower to the east. The tower projects above the gable roof and the open belfry is covered by a castellated roof. A pointed arch form is created by enclosure of the eaves in the gable end, below this is placed a semicircular stained glass window. Shingles which originally located in the gable end and at the corner of the tower have been replaced, resulting in a loss of textural quality. Although recently covered with aluminum siding, the church has not been structurally altered as have most of the churches designed during this period in Oshkosh. |
