Additional Information: | A two story brick commercial building designed in a very eclectic vein. The facade is asymmetrically arranged with the arched entrance balanced by the window arrangement and pediment of the second story. Oriel windows flank a round arched window arrangement on the west elevation. Stone was used for foundations and arches. This building's combination of building materials, the use of a blind arcade at the cornice and the suggestion of a parapet on the facade, are features which appear in a number of commercial structures, particularly the Webster Block (OS 13/36). Rebuilding of the storefront of the Sports Club, and alteration of second story windows detract from this design. |
