Additional Information: | 2005-ARCHED DOUBLE-HUNG WINDOWS HAVE BEEN REPLACED SINCE 1980 SURVEY. The Dale School is a massive Italianate design, constructed of cream brick. Narrow round arched windows are punched through the wall plane. The building is a very impressive, nicely detailed structure, however, the cornice has been reworked and the main entrance has been altered. The building is considered significant as an example of the Italianate style. Named in honor of Dr. Harvey B. Dale, superintendent of Public Instruction from 1866 to 1874 and Mayor from 1879 to 1880 and 1887 to 1888. |
