NOTES
Additional Information:F in the photo codes is short for FCS negatives. Although the entrance to this building has been modified of late with the addition of a metal windbreak, this small former schoolhouse still retains the major features of a one-story cube. The main block is square with a hip roof, brick chimney, clapboard siding and a rock-faced concrete block foundation. This early twentieth century structure is the only known school building in the small unincorporated community of Butte des Morts.

It was used as a school until the late 1950s.
