Additional Information: | Two story frame Italianate house with pediments over windows. September 2001-This two-story, Italianate house was constructed c. 1880. The house has a rectangular plan with a rear, one-story addition dating within the historic period. The house features an asphalt-shingled hipped roof with wide overhanging eaves, clapboard siding with corner boards, and is supported by a foundation of coursed stone. The symmetrical, three-bay main façade boasts two pairs of two-over-two, double-hung sash windows and a central door, all with decorative pedimented hood moldings. The porch has a hipped roof and paneled cornice, and is supported by two pillars and two pilasters. The second story of the main façade has two similar pairs of windows in each side bay and a single window centered above the porch. Other windows throughout the house boast the same hood molding and are also double-hung sash. Some have been downsized. A modern, one-story porch on the east elevation has a hipped roof, metal posts, and a concrete floor. Furthermore, this side porch has replacement windows and pressed-board siding. The large, one-story early addition extends from the south elevation of the house and displays an asphalt-shingled hipped roof, clapboard siding, and a stone foundation. The east façade of this extension has two entrances#20;one features an asphalt-shingled shed hood and wood brackets. The property includes a barn and three modern outbuildings, a concrete-block garage, a corrugated-metal shed, and an aluminum-sided shed. The c. 1920 barn features a gambrel roof with asphalt shingles, metal cupolas, and shed dormers with pairs of windows. It has vertical board siding and a stucco-covered foundation. A dilapidated concrete-block addition extends from the west elevation of the barn. Adjacent to this addition is a metal silo. The north elevation of the barn has a one-story addition extending from the center of the façade. It has a clipped gable roof with asphalt shingles, vertical board siding, and a stucco-covered foundation. The windows and doors of the addition have been altered. |
