NOTES
Additional Information:Four embroidery companies from Chicago, backed bya number of New Glarus stockholders, established an embroidery factory in New Glarus in 1925. The factory went through an unstable period and was finally closed for the years 1932-1935. In 1936 A.W. Wieser took over the business which became the Upright Swiss Embroidery Company. Currently this company is part of the Swiss Miss Corporation and the embroidery work is done by machine rather than by hand.
