Additional Information: | Medieval detailing, including bartisans (represented in this building by the turret-like projections) and a brick work design suggesting machiolation, distinguishes the corner structure which once served as the Citizens' Bank. Stone string courses also line the building and emphasize the fenestration pattern. The Citizens' Bank, located on the site of the Schindler home, was built in 1910. Twenty years later it merged with the Bank of New Glarus. A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History. |
