Additional Information: | The Cream Brick one-tone and half-story Quigley House retains the returned eaves, heavy cornice and simple gabled roofs typical of the Greek Revival Style. The late 1840s house (HA) includes cut stone sills and lintels, and half-sized attic-windows. The main block of the house remains intact, while the porch of the east, one story wing includes a recent wrought iron stair railing. The House remains on a double corner lot. Despite an altered porch, the Quigley House displays characteristics of the Greek Revival style and dates from the late 1840s--one of the few such structures extant in the Lake Geneva survey area. The site, materials, and form contribute to its significance. |
