Additional Information: | "Circa 1840. Vernacular Farm House. The name labels any buildings without a specific style. The farm house was a popular local structure, unadorned. They are described as "types" i.e. one or two cubed story, gabled ell, cross gabled, front or side gabled. Sometimes they are described by their floor plan: the "L" or "T" or "I" shaped plan. These houses were built according to need and tradition by owners and local builders without written plans. Nearly all are clapboard exterior. This house could be called "Lake Geneva Style".
