It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This two-and-one-half story residence rests on a cut limestone foundation. A shed-roof porch with turned supports and spindled railings occupies the south-west corner of the house. There are carved bargeboards and a pair of prominent brick chimneys. STICKWORK IN GABLES AND ON PORCH. Chimneys were built by John V. Becker. Edward and Amelia Rankin were involved in the local poorhouse and women's groups such as the Tuesday Club and the DAR. Zida Ivey, who lived here from the 1930s until her death in 1965, established Fort Atkinson's historical museum and participated in over 21 civic organizations. |
