NOTES
Additional Information:David Engl was the owner at the time of survey. Excellent example of an early brick commercial block with integrity of form and appearance and intact corbelled cornice. There are few extant examples of pre-1876 commercial blocks. Adam Englehardt was a baker here in 1854-69. 1739-45 is classically detailed two story brick commercial building of considerable elegance, at least compared to some of its Victorian neighbors. The facade is divided by piers and pilasters into three bays, each of which has two windows at the second floor and a storefront with door at the first floor. The second story facade is in original condition, with arched one over one windows, a corbelled brick cornice and a classical pediment. The storefronts have been subtly altered; original porportions remain.
