| Additional Information: | THE F IN PHOTO CODES STANDS FOR FCS. House has an attached modern garage. ARCHITECTURAL/ENGINEERING SIGNIFICANCE: ALMOST CROSS GABLED IN ITS FORM, THIS FRONT-GABLED HOUSE HAS A PROMINENT DORMER TO ONE SIDE, WOOD SHINGLING AT THE GABLED ENDS, RETURNED EAVES, ITS ORIGINAL CLAPBOARD SIDING, AND A BAND OF EIGHT NARROW AND RECTANGULAR WINDOWS ON THE MAIN FACADE OF ITS ENCLOSED FRONT PORCH. ALSO ORIGINAL IS THE ROCK-FACED CONCRETE BLOCK FOUNDATION. 2021 - This Front Gabled house was constructed circa 1890. The two-story building features prominent wall dormers that cross near – but not at – the ridgeline of the front-facing gable. Gable ends also feature returned, shingled eaves. An enclosed porch spans the width of the primary west elevation, topped by a shallow pediment. A square window bay with a shed roof projects from the south façade. Each gable end contains a pair of one-over-one double hung windows centered in the second story. Windows throughout appear to be original, and window openings have not been changed. Original clapboard siding has been covered or replaced with vinyl siding. |
