Additional Information: | 2015- "Mead & Hunt completed a field survey of the APE in November 2015. Within the APE we looked for previously surveyed resources and buildings, structures, and/or objects that are at least 40 years of age, retain sufficient integrity, and appear to be potentially eligible for the National Register based on architectural and/or historical significance. Although the rehabilitation work is limited to the existing bridge and approaches, strip right-of-way will be acquired from the northwest, southwest, and southeast quadrants of the bridge. Previously surveyed resources are located at each of these quadrants. A farm complex with four previously surveyed resources is located at the northwest quadrant. The complex includes a c.1870 house that appears to have been converted into a barn (AHI No. 65622), an altered gable ell residence with replacement windows and siding (AHI No. 65628), an outbuilding that appears to be intact (AHI No. 65624), and an outbuilding that is not clearly defined in the original Wisconsin Historic Preservation Database (WHPD) record (AHI No. 65630). The altered and incomplete farmstead lacked initial integrity and was not resurveyed for this project. A cream brick gable ell house with modest ltalianate details (AHI No. 65620) is located at the southwest quadrant. Although the house retains a degree of integrity, it is a vernacular form with modest stylistic details. In addition, it does not include a concentration of agricultural buildings. Therefore, it does not qualify as eligible for the National Register. An update photo is provided. The previously surveyed house (AHI No. 14527) and barn (AHI No. 14526) at the southeast quadrant lacked initial integrity. The house has replacement siding and windows and an enclosed porch. Although the barn retains a moderate degree of integrity, it is a common form and does not qualify as individually eligible for the National Register. In addition, no other outbuildings are present and the property does not qualify as a farmstead. Since the initial record did not include a photo, an update photo is provided for the house. An update photo is also provided for the barn." -"CTH Y- Mequon Rd over USH 41", WisDOT#1100-43-00, Prepared by Mead & Hunt, Inc., (2015). |
