Additional Information: | This 2-story Queen Anne commercial building was constructed in 1899 and served as a drug store at the first story and a doctor's office at the second story. It is rectangular in plan with brick walls and a flat roof. The front elevation faces south and is asymmetrical in composition. The storefront contains recessed doorways at each end of the façade with narrow, horizontal, single-pane windows spanning the space between the doorways; the wall under the horizontal windows is clad in fluted synthetic stone veneer. An opaque wood panel spans the width of the storefront above the windows and doorways; this holds the building’s current signage. Above this is a narrow metal cornice. A bay window occupies the eastern half of the second story; this features decorative narrow columns at each corner and wood paneling below each window (including 1-over-1 windows in each side and a large single pane window in its front wall). The western half of the second story contains two 1-over-1 windows that are accented by a cornice with decorative modillions. A Flemish-gabled parapet above the second-story bay window has been lost. |
