Additional Information: | 2013 DOT survey found building demolished - unknown date. The hospital was demolished after a ca. 1969 hospital addition, designed by Schubert & Associates of La Crosse, was constructed. The ca. 1969 addition still stands and is used as the main hospital. The property was originally known as the Trempealeau County Asylum and Poor House Farm, established ca. 1899-1900. Although the original hospital is gone, the remaining complex, which includes other ancillary and farming buildings used by patients, may be significant for its historic associations, and the ca. 1969 hospital (AHI #224393) contributes to the complex as part of its evolution. The name of the property was changed to the Trempealeau County Hospital, in 1947, and to the Trempealeau County Health Care Center, in 1974 |
