| Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled Clintonville North Main Street Residential Historic District exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History. 2013- This previously inventoried Tudor Revival residence is located on the west side of North Main Street, between West 13th and West 14th Streets. Erected in 1931, the one and one-half-story house faces east and is oriented parallel to the roadway. Brick, stucco and applied half-timbering clad the building, and asphalt shingles cover the steeply pitched roof. The east-facing (front) facade displays several wall projections, including a steep, asymmetrical, front-facing peaked gable over the front entrance. Fenestration throughout the house includes paired, six-over-six windows. The irregular massing, steeply pitched and multi-gabled roofline, and half-timbering are characteristic of the Tudor Revival style. The house exhibits Tudor Revival elements, but is a modest example of the style, lacking architectural distinction. It does contribute to the potential Clintonville Main Street Residential Historic District. -"STH 22 (Main Street) Survey," WisDOT ID #6250-01-06, Prepared by Rachel E Bankowitz (2013). |
