Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled Clintonville North Main Street Residential Historic District exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History. 2013- This previously inventoried T-Plan, Neo-Gothic Revival residence is located on the west side of North Main Street, between West 12th and West 13th streets. Erected in 1915, the one and one-half-story house faces east and is oriented parallel to North Main Street. Split wood shingles clad the house. The steeply pitched, cross-gabled roof is sheathed with asphalt shingles. Flared eaves extend over the open one-story front porch. Fenestration throughout the house includes single-spaced, double-hung windows. The asymmetrical massing, steeply pitched gabled roof, and pointed-arch windows are characteristic of the Neo-Gothic Revival style. While the house displays some Nee-Gothic Revival style design and is visually distinctive along North Main Street, it is mostly a vernacular interpretation of the style. It does contribute to the potential Clintonville Main Street Residential Historic District." - "STH 22 (Main Street) Survey," WisDOT ID #6250-01-06, Prepared by Rachel E Bankowitz (2013). |
