April 2001-The Riverside Cemetery Chapel is a one-story, front-gabled, Romanesque Revival building finished with beige, rock-faced, limestone laid in random ashlar. The Chapel features shouldered, parapeted gables, a tile roof, stone buttresses, belt-courses and moldings, and round-arched openings with stone voussoirs. The front faces east, overlooking STH 110 (Algoma Blvd). On the front, a cut-away porte-cochere appears. In the gable end above, the Chapel is embellished with a stone tablet reading: CHAPEL. Toward the rear of the building, two small, one-story, flat-roofed sections flank the chapel and house the office and restroom. The Riverside Cemetery Chapel was designed by Oshkosh architect Julius Dreger and completed in 1921. The interior features paintings by Gustav Behncke, noted local artist.
