Additional Information: | Surveyed in 2024 as part of WisDOT STH 33 project. Pauquette Park was established in 1929. This small urban park is built around two ponds with landscaped trails and bridges. A concrete and fieldstone wall and entry gate with arched wood trellis is located at the west edge of the park on Pierce St. at the terminus of Cook St. The stone wall was constructed in 1929 by mason Thor Landsverk, from Rio, and local carpenter A.J. Dempsey. Originally, the park also contained several rustic stone arch bridges, which have been replaced with modern metal and wood bridges. The park also contains a bandstand, restroom building, and small shelter, all constructed after 1989. |
