NOTES
Additional Information:THIS BUILDING FRONTS ONTO E. MAIN ST. AND IT IS LOCATED IN WAUNAKEE PARK, WHICH WAS DEVELOPED IN 1933-35 USING CWA FUNDING. THE BUILDING WAS BUILT AS A PUMPING STATION FOR THE MUNICIPAL WATER WORKS AND IT PREDATES THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PARK. THE BUILDING HAS COPPER GUTTERS AND DOWNSPOUTS AND ALL ITS ORIGINAL WINDOWS HAVE NOW BEEN REPLACED WITH MODERN TWO-LIGHT WINDOWS. 2008- "This previously surveyed, one-story-tall, rectilinear plan building faces onto E. Main St. alongside Six Mile Creek prior to 1933 (probably ca.1925) and it was built to house the equipment and possibly one of the municipal water pumps that were owned and operated by the Village of Waunakee Water Works. The building has poured concrete foundation walls, exterior walls that are clad in brown brick, and these walls are sheltered by a hip and deck roof that has very wide flared overhanging open eaves that are edged with copper gutters that drain into copper downspouts. The building displays both Craftsman Style and Mediterranean Revival Style elements, although the latter style is visible only in the small, narrow round-arched sidelights that flank the flat-arched garage door opening that is centered on the north-facing main facade of the building. All of the building's original flat-arched window openings have now had their original windows replaced with modern two-light windows and the original doors that filled the garage door opening have also now been replaced as well. Otherwise, this building is still in use by the Village Water Department today and it is in excellent, largely intact condition." -"Waunakee 7.5 Quad", WisDOT#5290-01-02, Prepared by Timothy F. Heggland, (2008). 2021 - Appearance unchanged
