NOTES
Additional Information:Two story commercial building with flat roof, brick exterior, some black glass windows in lower part and denticulated cornice.

The First Bank of Campbellsport was constructed in 1910 at a cost of $20,000. It is clad in cream brick with cut stone decorative details.
The roof is flat with a stepped parapet, simple stone cornice, and finials. A stone stringcourse with decorative brick detail
below the cornice wraps around the building. Decorative details include brick pilasters with stone molding, sills, and door
surround. The front (north) facade is symmetrical. A one-story porch flat roof porch supported by brick piers shelters and
entrance on the side (east) elevation. Windows are replacement casement and one-over-one, double-hung sash and
have either been down-sized or enclosed with vinyl. A one-story L-shaped addition clad in vinyl siding was added to the
side (west) and rear (south) elevations c.1960.

The building currently operates as a private business and was closed at the time of field survey. Although access to the
bank interior was not obtained, research indicates the interior was remodeled in the early 1960s. Construction of the
current First Bank of Campbellsport located at 114 Fond du Lac Avenue was completed in the late 1970s.

The bank was organized in 1909 and construction of the building was completed the following year. The building continued to serve as
a bank until the late 1970s when a more "contemporary'' building was constructed less than one block away. This bank
was not the only financial institution to serve Campbellsport during the early-to-mid twentieth century. While the
building as a whole is impressive in its size and scale and retains exterior decorative details, the use of modern vinyl
siding to downsize or enclose former window openings diminishes the aesthetic value of the building's exterior. This
combined with alterations to the interior diminish its integrity as a whole.
