NOTES
Additional Information:Two story, intersecting gable roof, returned eaves. --- 2023: The inventoried structure is Greek Revival style house. The construction date was not available in the WHPD. It is located on the west side of Moon Road, 0.5 miles north of Freemont Road, Rosendale, Fond du Lac County. The homestead has mature trees and windbreaks, and most historic farm buildings appear nonextant. The property is immediately adjacent to the proposed Project Area. Its eligibility for listing in the NRHP has not been evaluated. The 1893 and c1920 atlases show Wm McCormick homesteaded 40 acres at this location in the southeast quarter of Section 24 in Rosendale (Foote; Kenyon Co.). A 1974 photograph in the WHPD shows the Gabled Ell plan house had narrow wood lap cladding and multi-pane sash windows. At the time of survey, the house retained much of its historic form but had been modified with wide vinyl lap siding and sash and casement windows. A front doorway was covered over by the new siding, but its gabled overhang remains in place. A historic-age concrete silo is intact, but there are two dilapidated small farm buildings and only the stone foundation of the original barn.
