NOTES
Additional Information:The First Church of Christ. Scientist is a two story plus frame building. It is largely rectangular in plan with a hipped main roof. A turret rises out of the roof on the west elevation which continues downward in a two story bay. The main facade features a full, pedimented portico supported by four Ionic order columns and four Ionic order pilasters on the front facade. A large six pointed star light adorns the center of the pediment.

As such, it is the only example of this type or style of construction in the City.

The congregation of the First Church of Christ. Scientist began meeting in homes in Manitowoc in 1904. The present church was constructed in 1917 and has been used by the Church ever since.
