Additional Information: | #650: MN50-09,11,12. Altered 1st story; heart design in gable. The building is a three story brick office building topped by an ornamental pediment. The first floor has been completely altered. This building was built in 1918 as the offices for the Schreihart Brewing Company. Schreihart complex remains to the north at MN50-09-11 and 12. The heart in the center of the pediment is a remainder of the origial use. In 1919, as the natio entred Prohibition, the Kunz and Bleser and Schreihart Breweries and Rahr Malting company combined to form the Manitowoc Products Company. The new Schreihart office building was used by the new company for offices until the mid 1920's. The building has had several uses since. |
