Additional Information: | The Gaterman Manufacturing Company has been at this site since the mid-1930's. The company was founded in 1907 when William Gaterman arrived in Manitowoc with a new invention called the "pea lifter guard" which allowed pea vines to be harvested by machine for the first time. The company continues to design and manufacture food processing implements as well as other contract fabricating.
