NOTES
Additional Information:#650: Garage.

Intact Craftsman with overhanging eaves with knee braces. Full width enclosed front porch with battered porch piers. Rectangular oriel on side elevation with overhanging shed roof.

As of survey in 2005, the knee braces identified in 1985 are no longer intact. As well, the structure was mis-identified as constructed of brick. The porch wall is brick and the porch piers are stucco; however, the bulk of the home is covered with wooden shingles that were likely added in the 1940s.

July 2005-This circa 1918, one and one half story bungalow rises from a brick foundation and the majority of the home#25;s wall surface is covered with wooden shingles. The primary (west) elevation features a façade-length porch comprised of a brick wall, and tapered pier supports; the porch is enclosed with multiple light, period windows. Multiple-light sashes are located throughout the remainder of the house.

This house was built circa 1918 by Charles F. Heise, D.D.S., whom had his office three blocks to the north, also on S. 8th Street. Dr. Heise passed away in 1935; however, his wife Harriet remained in the home into the late 1940s, until moving into an upper flat two blocks away on Madison Street. The next known owner was Manitowoc City Clerk Arthur C. Post in 1953, by which time the home had been altered for two family use. The current owner is Robert Kurtzbach.
