NOTES
Additional Information:This two story brick commercial building displays brick corbelling. An outside staircase leading to the second floor is located on the south side of the building. The upstairs windows appear to be original. The size of the storefront has been somewhat reduced in recent years.

"This structure was built in 1883. An early history states that from 1887-1897 Gregor Deering conducted a meat market in Kaukauna. Listed at this address in 1897 was George Hauser's meat market, in 1901 J.W. Bukowsky and Orlando Cole's grocery and in 1908 Bernard Nelessen's grocery and home. The longest resident was Herman C. Hass's grocery form 1910-1977. First listed in 1897 as a papermaker, Hass ran a saloon from c. 1901-1908 at the southeast corner of Lawe and Division. Not until 1978 was the building used for anything other than a food market; since that time retail auto parts have been sold."
