Additional Information: | The two story brick Renaissance Revival commercial building has retained its original integrity. An unadorned cornice follows the top of the building. Abbey Tuttle owned and resided at this building (called the Belmont House) from 1896-1910 with her husband, Hendrick, who was proprietor during that time. 1919 was the last year the Belmont House wa slisted in city directories. In 1921 Mrs. Clara Boehnert had a millinery here and Manley P. Mitchell, director of the Kaukauna Vocational School, lived here until 1922. James J. O'Connell has owned and lived in the building since 1923, conducting an insurance business. This is the only historic hotel thought to remain in Kaukauna. |
