Additional Information: | THIS TWO STORY GREEK REVIVAL HOUSE FEATURES AN L-SHAPED PLAN CONFIGURATION, A STONE FOUNDATION, A WOOD TRIM AND A TIN COVERED, GABLE ROOF. THE EXTERIOR WALLS ARE MADE UP OF ALUMINUM/VINYL SIDING AND WOOD. CORNICE RETURNS APPEAR IN THE STREET-FACING OPEN GABLE END. AWNINGS SHELTER THE FRONT AND SIDE ENTRANCES. ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENTS OF THE GREEK REVIVAL STYLE, SUCH AS THE FORM OR SHAPE AND THE EAVE RETURNS, ARE STILL APPARENT ON THIS DWELLING. THE RESIDENCE IS CONSIDERED TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION. IT WAS BUILT IN 1847. (SEE BIB. REF. A). INDIVIDUALS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS HOUSE AND THE DATES OF THEIR ASSOCIATION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: JOHN MCNAIR, FROM 1847 TO 1853 (ESTATE); DAVID JONES, FROM 1866 TO THE 1870'S; AND H. T. OSBORNE FROM 1875 TO 1900. (SEE BIB. REF. A). |
