NOTES
Additional Information:THIS ONE AND A HALF STORY ROMANESQUE REVIVAL CHURCH FEATURES A RECTANGULAR SHAPED PLAN CONFIGURATION, A LIMESTONE FOUNDATION, A BRICK EXTERIOR, A STONE TRIM AND AN ASPHALT SHINGLED GABLE ROOF. PARAPETS CAN BE SEEN AT THE UPPER PORTION OF EACH GABLED END. ROUND ARCHED OPENINGS ARE LOCATED THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING. SOME OF THESE OPENINGS CONTAIN DELICATE TRACERY, AND MORE ABUNDANTLY, STAINED GLASS, WHICH HAS REMAINED INTACT OVER THE YEARS. AT THE SIDE OF THE CHURCH, BUTTERESSES REST UPON LIMESTONE BASES. BY FAR THE MOST DOMINANT ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENT OF THIS CHURCH IS THE FRONT-FACING TOWER, WHICH PROJECTS FROM THE OPEN GABLED END. THIS TOWER IS EMBELLISHED BY STONE STRING COURSES AND BRICKWORK DETAILING. POLYGONAL ENTRANCE BAYS WITH TRUNCATED HIPPED ROOFS FLANK EACH SIDE OF THE TOWER. THIS BUILDING, CONSTRUCTED IN 1901 (SEE BIB. REF. E), IS PRESENTLY IN GOOD CONDITION.

THIS PLACE OF WORSHIP WAS KNOWN HISTORICALLY AS THE ST. MARY'S GERMAN CATHOLIC CHRUCH. IT HAS SERVED AS A CHURCH FROM 1901 TO THE PRESENT DAY, AND IS NOW KNOWN AS THE ST. MARY'S CHRUCH. (SEE BIB. REF. E, F, G).
