Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History. IT FEATURED A STONE FOUNDATION, A CLAPBOARD EXTERIOR AND A GABLE ROOF. AN ENCLOSED, FLAT ROOFED PORCH APPEARED AT THE FRONT OF THE DWELLING. SOLAR PANELS LOCATED AT THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE RESIDENCE WERE BUILT INTO AN ADDITION. BEFORE ITS DEMISE, THE HOUSE WAS CONSIDERED TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION. HAVING HAD ACCOMPANIED THE HOUSE WAS A SHEET METAL GARAGE; NO FURTHER DESCRIPTION OF THIS PARTICULAR STRUCTURE EXISTS. Wright Clayton lived in this home at one time. The 1920 census shows his daughter Martha and Richard Mitchell living here. The home was destroyed for the school playground. Previously, this Architecture and Historic Inventory Record stated that this house might have been built circa 1850. |
