Additional Information: | THIS ONE AND A HALF STORY HOUSE FEATURES AN L-SHAPED PLAN CONFIGURATION, A STONE FOUNDATION, A CLAPBOARD EXTERIOR, A WOOD TRIM AND A SHINGLED, MULTI-GABLED ROOF. THE HIGH PITCH OF THE STREET-FACING GABLE ROOF IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE GOTHIC REVIVAL STYLE. A GABLED DORMER PROJECTS FROM THE MAIN ROOF. BARGEBOARDS AND GABLE PENDANTS APPEAR ON THE UPPER STORY OF THE OPEN GABLE ENDS. PROMINENT MOLDINGS ARE PRESENT ON THE WINDOWS. THIS RESIDENCE WAS BUILT BETWEEN 1858 AND 1871, AND WAS REMODELED BETWEEN 1900 AND 1908. (SEE BIB. REF. A). THE DWELLING IS PRESENTLY IN GOOD CONDITION. JOHN STEPHENS WAS THE INDIVIDUAL ASSOCIATED WITH THIS HOUSE FROM C. 1858 TO 1910 (ESTATE). (SEE BIB. REF. A). |
