Additional Information: | THIS QUEEN ANNE HOUSE FEATURES A STONE FOUNDATION, A CLAPBOARD EXTERIOR AND A WOOD TRIM. STAINED GLASS APPEARS ON THE FIRST STORY CENTRAL BAY WINDOW. CORNICE RETURNS, COMPLETE WITH DECORATIVE ORNAMENTATION BENEATH THEM, OCCUR AT THE THIRD STORY, ABOVE THE BAYS. LOCATED AT THE WEST IS AN ADDITION. THIS RESIDENCE, BUILT BETWEEN 1854 AND 1856 (SEE BIB. REF. A) IS PRESENTLY IN GOOD CONDITION. THE DWELLING MAY REPRESENT A POSSIBLE EARLIER TEMPLE HOUSE, WHICH WAS REMODELED EXTENSIVELY IN THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY BETWEEN 1900 AND 1908. (SEE BIB. REF. A). INDIVIDUALS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS HOUSE AND THE DATES OF THEIR ASSOCIATION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: MRS. TEMPLE, FROM C. 1856 TO C. 1885; AND JOHN GORGEN, FROM C. 1900 TO 1910. (SEE BIB. REF. A, B). |
