Additional Information:THIS TWO-STORY, SIDED GABLED HOUSE FEATURES A RECTANGULAR SHPAED PLAN CONFIGURATION, A STONE FOUNDATION, A COMBINATION STONE AND CLAPBOARD EXTERIOR, A WOOD TRIM AND AN ASPHALT SHINGLED, GABLE ROOF. DOMINATING THE FACADE IS AN OPEN DESIGNED PORCH. IT HAS SLENDER TUSCAN COLUMNS WHICH RISE TWO STORIES HIGH AND WHICH SUPPORT A LARGE PEDIMENTED GABLE ROOF. SIDELIGHTS SURROUND THE MAIN ENTRANCE. ADDITIONS WERE MADE TO THIS PROPORTIONALLY LARGE, C. 1840 RESIDENCE. (SEE BIB. REF. A, C). OVERALL, IT IS CONSIDERED TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION.

INDIVIDUALS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS RESIDENCE AND THE DATES OF THEIR ASSOCIATION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: THOMAS SCOTT ANSLEY, FROM C. 1840 TO 1890; AND JOHN FISCHER, FROM 1895 TO 1925. (SEE BIB. REF. A, C). JOHN ANSLEY WAS MINERAL POINT'S FIRST POSTMASTER.
