Architectural Statement: St. Anne Catholic Church is an excellent example of 20th century Romanesque Revival. Its overall design and proportions are influenced by Austrian forms of the style. Historical Statement: Established to accommodate the City's northwest German population, St. Anne Catholic Church built its first church in 1894. The present edifice was constructed in 1919. The interior murals and stained glass were designed by the Austrian artists Haws (Hans) and Joseph Schmedl (Schmiedl). |
