Bibliographic References: | ANDREW WARREN HISTORIC DISTRICT, FRIENDS OF WAUSAU HISTORIC LANDMARKS, 1995(?). In Aucutt, Hettinga and Jansen, "Wausau Beautiful" (2nd ed., 2010), 133. Book incorrectly identifies Rose (his first wife, who died in 1925) as Walter's wife at the time of the home's construction. Assessor’s information cites a 1927 date of construction; however, city directories do not list the Thoms in the home as of 1929. In Aucutt, et. al., Wausau Beautiful, a 1929-30 date is offered. Note, however, that the Thoms entertained “at their home on Highland Park Boulevard,” as of January 1930; therefore it can be assumed that the house was likely almost entirely completed, if not completed, by the end of 1929. |
