NOTES
Additional Information:This two-story Twentieth Century Commercial style factory is constructed of bricks that have been painted white. It features a flat parapet roofline, and the walls of the bulding are decorated with stone rectangles, arrows, and diamonds. The window openings are large factory-style with multiple lights resembling glass blocks. Some of the front wall openings have been enclosed with vinyl siding and modern casement windows. There are shallow brick pilasters on the front and south side walls of the building. On the front of the building they are decorated with brick keystones. There are some plain additions to the building that have no decoration. But their openings are largely filled in with the same type of "glass block" windows as in the main block of the building. The building, as of 1989, was in good condition.

The Twentieth Century Commercial style features simple decorations and often parapet rooflines. Some small examples of the style have details that reflect the Prairie Style, while large exmaples often reflect the more elaborate Chicago Style. This building is a good example of the style because of its simple, but well executed decoration and overall high level of preservation. In particular, the extant historic window openings, filled with multi-light glass are an important part of the overall design of the building.

This building was constructed for the Fountain City Dairy Company in 1921. It became the Verifine Dairy Products Company around 1938.
