NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' (Gale College Historic District) exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History.

Unique in Galesville, this structure is an example of a common style used for educational facilities built in the early 20th century, and is of further interest as an integral part of a comlex that constituted the only institution of higher learning in the area.

This building was constructed by the Norwegian Lutherans who controlled Gale College from 1901 to 1939. It indicates the growth the college underwent during the Lutheran period.

Part of the Marynook Complex Academic Revival style. For information on the sculpture located here see the SOS files at the National Museum of American Art in Washington, D.C.

2013 - BUILDING STILL RETAINS SUFFICIENT INTEGRITY
