The Grand Theater is an elegant example of 1920s theater design conceived with Neo-Classical Revival inspiration. The central section of the primary facade recalls Roman trimphal arches, while the entire elevation is divided with colossal pilasters with lotus capitals. Urns, garlands, and wreaths decorate the spandrels and attic level. The interior continues the classical program and features arched niches with sculpture, among other details. The Grand was built for the growing motion picture industry as well as vaudeville and other live productions. It represents an era of 20th century entertainment. Covenant/Easement: Expires 9-12-2052.
