Additional Information: | THIS TWO-STORY BUILDING IS DESIGNED WITH A RECTANGULAR-SHAPED PLAN CONFIGURATION, A CUT STONE FOUNDATION, A BRICK EXTERIOR AND A FLAT ROOF. METAL LINTELS APPEAR OVER LARGE OPENINGS. BUILT IN C. 1938 (SEE BIB. REF. A), THIS RETAIL BUILDING IS PRESENTLY IN GOOD CONDTION. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: THIS LARGE BRICK STRUCTURE WAS BUILT BY WILL MILLER IN THE LATE 1930'S AND WAS USED TO HOUSE HIS PLUMBING AND FURNITURE BUSINESS. SOME OF THE STONE USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE BUILDING WAS TAKEN FROM THE ZINK WORKS AT MINERAL POINT WHICH WAS BEING DEMOLISHED AT THE TIME. (SEE BIB. REF. A). |
